Mr Melville Watts OBE

It is with great sadness that I announce that our President Melville Watts passed away on the morning of 19 August 2010, in his own Lydney Hospital after a relatively short illness.

A great blessing was that on Saturday, whilst in Lydney Hospital, he was able to 'celebrate' his 87th birthday with Jane, Sarah-Jane, Andrew and Simon and grandchildren; twin brother Cecil and sister Joyce also called in whilst Melville wore a funny hat and cut the cake.

Melville will be remembered as a gentleman and human dynamo who above all put 'Service before Self'.

Whilst in hospital he attended the naming of the new Melville Watts OBE Outpatients' Department.

Thank you, Melville - your energy, enthusiasm and great contributions will remain as an example to us all.

He certainly lived respected and his passing will be regretted by so many.
